Buddy Walk 2010 broke attendance records!

The Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-Columbia’s (DSAMC) Buddy Walk 2010 was a huge success. The 4th annual walk saw record attendance with the number of walkers exceeding 1,000. Donations from the 2010 Buddy Walk have surpassed the $40,000 mark, bringing the total money raised since the Buddy Walk was started four years ago to over $165,000.

DSAMC is run 100% by volunteers, which allows all money raised from the Buddy Walk to go towards supporting DSAMC-run programs and to raise awareness for Down syndrome.

Thanks to all of the Vivid and Imageworks folks who donated their time and money to the 4th annual Buddy Walk. Your support means a ton!

    About DSAMC
Chris and Zelene Fowler, together with Aaron and Heather Jensen, founded the Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-Columbia (DSAMC). After Chris and Zelene's second child, Henry, was born with Down syndrome, the families were inspired to form what came to be known as the DSAMC. Chris and Aaron are long-time best friends, which added to the passion put into this non-profit organization. Their vision was to form an Association to provide information, offer support, and create activities that would enhance the lives of those with Down syndrome and others in the community who interact with them on a daily basis.

The DSAMC helps create new dreams for families with children born with Down syndrome and motivate inspired thinking within the community to realize the potential of children and adults with Down syndrome. The Association works to raise expectations of children with Down syndrome through awareness and education. The DSAMC's message is one of acceptance and inclusion.
